"Toucan" is a 1948 22' Shepherd Utility Runabout built in Niagare-on-the-Lake, Ontario. This is the 50th Shepherd made. These boats reached their peak in popularity and production in the 1950's- early 1960's, and have had a loyal following ever since. Particularly practical boats, with spacious interiors that carry many passengers, they are also great boats in large bodies of water and can handle a lot of chop. This 22' model was among the most popular of their designs.
"Toucan" is in great shape, with the bottom being solid and sound after being meticulously maintained for her whole life. The hull and deck are in great condition and were refinished by Woodwind Yachts 8 years ago. The boat has been run the past four summers without issue. The engine is a Gray marine "Straight 6 Cylinder" producing around 100 hp. Hardware is all in good condition including the more rare "split-glass" windshield that was no longer used after 1949.
