Grandeur

YEAR: 1920's
The owner had owned 'The Duchess', a 31' Duke Long Deck Launch before we came across this boat. He always wanted to find a signature large Ditchburn launch. In 2008, this boat was brought to our attention. It was built in the Ditchburn plant in Orillia, and was built heavier, to withstand the waters of the Great Lakes and inner-coastal waterways.

LENGTH: 37'
It was recovered from the Upper St.Lawrence area, but spent most her life on Lac Saint Jean, Quebec. The hull was totally intact, as was much of the interior, firewalls, and even portions of the deck. Most of the hardware, including the cable and quadrant steering assembly was in tact. Though the hull was too deteriorated for structural use, it was all dismantled and used on non-structural interior components.

BUILDER: DITCHBURN BOATWORKS
This 3-year project came to fruition in 2012. All of the original hardware and rigging had been re-fit, machined, and plated. Any missing pieces were fabricated using original Ditchburn castings, in stock from a lifetime in the business. 'Grandeur' is now back in the Ditchburn territory where she was born, and is used regularly
by a Muskoka enthusiast.
