26' Ducktail Racer
This boat was drawn up by Peter Breen, and is being built by Jeffrey Breen. In 2019, we completed Margaret Shirley- a 31' BobTail Gentleman's Racer, & based on it's performance and reaction generated, we decided to build a slightly smaller version. This design has the more traditional duck-tail transom reminiscent of the famous raceboats of the 1920's such as B-IV. The hull is now complete inside and out, Ilmor 365 HP MV8 engine installed, seats built, deck frames, and windshield complete. Available for purchase.
27.5' Custom Runabout
This boat has been drawn up by Peter Breen, and is being built by Breen Boats. Based off the increasingly popular designs of the Mediterranean styles, it will be the first of it's kind built in the "bullet-proof" plank-on-frame encapsulated method, held together by both stainless steel fasteners and thickened epoxy. Many of the original boats of this style fell victim to de-lamination, as a result of their construction method. This will not be the case for this vessel. She will be powered by a 522 HP 7.4 L Ilmor powerplant , providing optimal power at minimal weight. A large cockpit will carry 7-8 passengers comfortably, while a rear cockpit provides additional space for 3-4. This wise design provides more usable space, and eliminates lounge day-beds many boats of this design incorporate. A V-berth in the front provides over-night capability. Available for purchase.
Zeegwun Animkee
This boat is a 2005 26.5' Breen Custom Long-deck Launch that was custom built for Dan Stock for use on Stoney Lake. Peter Breen saved a Ditchburn hull, made a mould out of it, and Zeegwun Animkee emerged from that mould 20 years ago. Features many fine details such as self-standing bucket seats, shaped coaming boards, a sliding navy top, and 90 lb bronze cutwater sporting the Breen Indian head bow ornament.
She has come to the shop in need of a few repairs and routine varnish and paint.
Margaret Shirley
This boat is among the most unique and signature boats Breen Boats has ever constructed. Finished in 2019, after 5,000 hours of labour, this 31' Gentleman's Racer incorporates a large cockpit, forward mother-in-law cockpit, antique exposed copper screwed deck, vernier aircraft throttle, and "bob-tail" transom.
After 7 years of service, she is down for routine varnish and paint re-coating.
Flash
This boat was built in 1962 by Greavette Boatworks, and was only a handful of this 18.5' Gentleman's Racer model ever built. Only a couple years into its life, it was purchased by Murray Hogarth and has remained in the Hogarth family ever since. Greg Hogarth acquired it 15 years ago and had Breen Boats install its life-time encapsulated bottom which replaced a laminated bottom only 7 years old installed by a competitor and in un-fixable condition. After 11 years of service, the boat is back for routine varnish and paint re-coating
