YEAR: 1926

This is a 151-class 'stepped-hull' designed raceboat that was built by the Hacker Boat Co. This was the smallest class for inboard boats, but often the most competitive and entertaining, as the barriers to entry weren't as great as with the larger craft.

LENGTH: 16.5'

Louie Cares acquired this boat in 2015, and sent it us in 2017 for a new bottom, strip/refinish, and rigging. The original engine was rebuilt, and reinstalled, complete with the original riveted copper oil tank. 'Hellion' was built with an extremely high deck crown to accommodate the engine.

BUILDER: HACKER BOAT CO.

In raceboat fashion, the decks were built thin & light, with exposed copper screw heads. It also features a large outboard rudder assembly, that covers the propeller and allows it to overhang the transom 18". This gets the driveline at as low of an angle as possible to increase efficiency. She is a regular sight and sound to behold on Reeds Lake, Michigan.
