Mint Julep

There are only 6 original Ditchburn Vikings in existence. Their timeless design has never been replicated nearly a century on. It was the first production boat in the world to feature a stepped-hull design. Named after her favourite drink, Mint Julep was ordered by Lady Eaton in the fall of 1928, after her steamer, The Wanda, was not fast enough to get a sick child down the lakes in time to save him. Build sheets show it was by far the most expensive viking built. Noted to have the fastest boats on the lake, it is no surprise that Mint Julep was the first of the King Hull Vikings to receive the state of the art 200 HP Overhead Valve Kermath Powerplant. The boat was advertised to go 45 MPH in the 1929 sales brochure. The boat was used both at the Muskoka and Lake Ontario Eaton Estates. Brought to us in 1999, the restoration was completed in 2005. Mint Julep has never yet been shown at a boatshow and is in pristine condition having just received additional top coats throughout. Available for purchase at $450,000.
