The Traveller
YEAR: 1894
Floated out of its original boathouse on Gloucester Pool, near Georgian Bay, ON, this is one of the only remaining turn-of-the-century glass cabin launches afloat today. Peter re-created her marine railway crossing some 50 years later as pictures show.
LENGTH: 30'
Built to serve the King family, this boat was a part of life on Gloucester Pool for more than 50 years. Extensively restored by Peter Breen in 1983-84, she received some bottom planks, and repairs throughhout, but most of her wood was able to be preserved.
BUILDER: SWARTMAN
After showcasing his work for many years and plying the waters of the Severn River, she has now been returned to descendants of her original owner, the Dunsmoor family, and once again is a common sight on Gloucester Pool, Ontario.
